How Many Pounds Of Produce Do You Throw Away?

According to the USDA  Americans waste 23 billion
pounds of fresh produce each
year because it spoils before we
can eat it. That’s 187 pounds
per household. Say what?! Why?! All that precious produce! I know I try to do all I can in preserving my fresh produce but unfortunately it just isn't enough. Rubbermaid, my favorite brand of storage containers, (amongst everything else they make) has created a storage container specifically for our produce. It's unique design keeps our produce fresher for up to 80% longer (Holla!)

Rubbermaids FreshVent™ Lid contains a revolutionary membrane
that naturally regulates the flow of Oxygen and Carbon dioxide so my produce stays fresh.

The CrispTray™ elevates the produce away from moisture
and promotes proper airflow to prevent produce from spoiling.

It comes in various sizes and is see thru so I know what is in the container without taking the lid off. Thanks to Crowdtap and Rubbermaid, I got to take one of these awesome containers for a spin.

I live in Florida where I have the luxury of growing some of my own fruits and veggies so I couldn't wait to give Rubbermaid Produce Saver a try. I can take produce that I buy from the grocery store and throw it right in the container or put what I've picked from my own yard in it. I tried it with my tomatoes, strawberries, and even lettuce without them wilting after a day or two. I am really impressed with Rubbermaid Produce Saver and have already ordered more sizes.. The price of the containers are worth it in just the amount I'll save by not throwing away spoiled produce!

I'm a member of the Rubbermaid and Crowdtap rewards Program and was sent a Rubbermaid Produce Saver for free in exchange for my unbiased opinion
